Chrysalis was founded in 1983 with a program designed to support homeschooling. We’ve expanded over the years creating programs that are child centered and start with the needs of children and families.
Many families begin homeschooling, but are unsure of what to do and how much is necessary. Others feel confident, except for one or two courses, while still others would just like their child to be able to have a different teaching style and some peer interactions. There is a great deal of flexibility available in our homeschool program, enough to serve each of these families.
Our homeschooling programs include:
The freedom to choose or design your own curriculum and coursework, while still having the support of a professional teacher, trained in supporting homeschooling families.
Chrysalis curriculum available to borrow or use.
Your teacher may also suggest additional assignments that would interest or benefit your child.
Your child meets weekly with their teacher to discuss what they have done or participated in the previous week.
Your teacher keeps records of your child's work and assesses it when appropriate.
Chrysalis classes may be added for an additional fee. These courses are taught by our teachers in either a 1-1 or group setting.
Elementary Homeschool Program
Your teacher will meet with your child, or you and your child one hour a week.
You may choose one subject for your teacher to teach your child.
A portion of your child’s time with the teacher may be used for coaching you in choice of curriculum, teaching strategies, activities and scheduling tips.
Junior High Homeschool Program
As your child enters the junior high years their abilities and courses become more complex. We find this often requires a slightly larger team of teachers who have expertise in both the developmental phase of this age group and their coursework.
Your child, or you and your child will meet with their teachers for a total of one-and-a-half hours a week.
A portion of your child’s time with their teachers may be used for coaching you in choice of curriculum, teaching strategies, activity and time tips.
High School Homeschool Program
High school is another jump in your teen’s abilities. Their courses not only become more complex, but more specialized. This requires a larger team of teachers who have the expertise in each of their courses to best be able to advise and assess.
Your teen will meet with their teachers for a total of two-and-a-half hours a week.
