Join our staff of 70 professionals, ready to inspire their students.
Our staff is a diverse group of educators with backgrounds rich in teaching experience, who are excited to share their love of learning with students. We share common beliefs about learning and work together as a team to make every child’s experience unique and personal as they design a curriculum just for each child. We value being part of a collegial community with many opportunities for growth. We have a full elementary school staff, certified teachers to teach every required high school subject, and a team of expert instructors that bring rich and varied experiences to our students and teach a variety of subjects.
A track record of over 40 years of success
Chrysalis has been operating for over 40 years and can provide stability and a rich history of experience to draw from. Many of our staff have been with us over 10 years, with some as many as 30. Our staff has extensive knowledge and expertise in education and applies best practices that have proven beneficial to create success for every student. Over 3,000 students have graduated from Chrysalis and have pursued a variety of post high school experiences, including Ivy League colleges, arts colleges, and a huge variety of universities around the country.
Teaching is an Art
At Chrysalis, our teachers get to practice the art of teaching by getting to know their students in 1-1 settings and in small groups (12 students or less). Each teacher designs a curriculum that fits the student(s) in front of them. Our teachers have the freedom to change direction and pace when needed, to decide the best way to meet the goal of helping the student learn, and are supported in this through our mentoring program.
Mentoring and Professional Development
All staff are supported and mentored. As a new Chrysalis teacher, you will meet weekly with your mentor teacher, who will guide you as you learn to design a personalized curriculum focused on creating an Optimal Learning Environment™ for each of your students. You’ll attend weekly meetings with some of our advisors to learn more about Chrysalis culture and monthly department meetings with your peers to share resources and teaching strategies. Chrysalis is also an approved clock hour agency and offers courses throughout the year at no cost to keep your certificate current.
Team Approach
We use a team approach for each student. A student’s teaching team is made up of several team members, each brought in for their expertise or style. Teachers collaborate and do what works with their students to maximize student engagement and support their goals. A student’s Consulting Teacher is the team leader and provides all contact with the parents, reducing the overall workload for the other teachers, freeing them up to focus on teaching.
Room to Grow
Each of our teachers begin their Chrysalis career with their initial year, then have the opportunity to grow into other teaching positions as a: Specialist, Consulting Teacher, Mentor, and Academic Advisor. Each position has increased responsibilities and salary.
